I couldn't find a good webpage for explaining what a tidal disruption event is.
If you're not an astronomer the Wikipedia page [hlink] is maybe informative, sometimes wrong, and not very illuminating. It's a bad page. I have made minor edits and will probably make it a goal to continue editing. If you're a scientist, Suvi's review may be a good place to start: https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2021ARA%26A..59...21G/abstract although some of the assertions made in it are already very dated.
